About the job

Key responsibilities:

1. Drill and blast module development: Design and simulate drill and blast patterns for open-pit mines.
2. Rock mass characterization: Assist in developing algorithms for geological analysis and rock mass properties for input into drill and blast planning.
3. Blast simulation: Create and integrate blast performance simulation tools based on site-specific geology, fragmentation analysis, and blast dynamics.
4. Geology analysis: Work with geospatial data (DEM, LIDAR, point clouds) to model geology for mining operations, including fault detection and orebody mapping.
5. Integration with analytics platform: Collaborate with the software development team to integrate drill and blast simulation into the larger analytics platform.
6. Optimization: Analyze and optimize blast performance for fragmentation, cost efficiency, and safety.
7. Data interpretation and analysis: Provide insights from drill and blast data, and contribute to predictive models for better planning and execution.
8. Collaboration: Work closely with GIS engineers, platform developers, and AI specialists to incorporate cutting-edge analytics and visualization features.

Other requirements

1. Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mining engineering, geology, or a related field. familiarity with mining operations, an understanding of the mining value chain, and typical mining processes.

2. 1+ years of experience in drill and blast engineering/mining engineering/geology or related fields, ideally within an open-pit mining context. Freshers are encouraged to apply.

3. Strong understanding of rock mass behavior, geology analysis, and blast dynamics.

4. Experience with mining software like Surpac, Datamine, Vulcan, AutoCAD, or similar tools.

5. Knowledge of blast simulation software such as JKSimBlast, ShotPlus, or similar.

6. Familiarity with GIS tools and geospatial data analysis is a plus.

7. Experience with simulation models or software development for mining applications is highly desirable.

8. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex geological and blasting data.

9. Excellent teamwork and communication skills to work in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Salary

Annual CTC: ₹ 3,50,000 - 5,00,000 /year
