1. Analyze current application of Drew Marine programs and products onboard vessels
2. Evaluate the consistency of water treatment and energy management programs through on-site sample analysis, observation, and investigations
3. Collaborate with chief engineers and marine officers about full scope and application of Drew Marine product line
4. Abide by a culture of safety
5. Participate in a culture of accountability, teamwork, transparency, commitment, and passion
6. Provide solutions for increased efficacy of Drew Marine products and identify and research potential vessel needs
7. Supervise, whenever necessary, inspections, chemical cleanings, and installation and repair of Drew Marine equipment
8. Provide training to the crew
9. Maintain vessel information files through the use of service/technical assistance reports and conceptualize information towards achieving actionable knowledge for vessels, vessel managers, and Drew Marine
10. Visit accounts with account executives and area manager to better understand client needs & key contacts and prepare for and participate in technical reviews
11. Work on other complex tasks and projects may be assigned from time to time requiring a degree of autonomy
Required/desired knowledge, experiences, and skills:
1. Relevant Bachelor s degree with 4-5 years experience, or 8-12 years of related experience, in a technical role in the marine or chemical industry
2. Strong interpersonal skills when working with colleagues and maritime clients
3. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
4. Strong technical knowledge and experience
5. Strong practical abilities with general computer applications, with specific experience with engineering applications a plus
6. Flexible and motivated work ethic, with desire to serve the needs of the clients
7. Commitment to safe working practices and environmental stewardship
8. Understanding of maritime regulations a plus
Education/Certifications:
1. Bachelor s degree or equivalent in Marine, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering; or 8-12 years of related experience in a technical role in the marine or chemical industry
2. Ability to secure local transportation identification passes
