I. Educational Background:
1. Hold a Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) or a related field such as International Relations, Political Science, or Paralegal Studies.
2. Additional certification or training in Canadian immigration law (such as a diploma or course on Immigration Consulting from a recognized Canadian institution) is highly desirable, even if not a licensed Immigration Consultant.
II. Experience:
1. Have 1-5 years of experience in immigration law, preferably focused on Canadian immigration processes, gained through work in a law firm, consultancy, or as a legal assistant.
2. Proven ability to draft legal documents, including submission letters and applications, with attention to detail and adherence to regulatory standards.
3. Experience conducting legal research, particularly with Canadian immigration statutes (e.g., the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act, Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, and the Citizenship Act), and analyzing case law.
4. Prior content writing or journalism experience, especially related to legal or immigration topics, is a plus, with a portfolio of published work being a bonus.
5. Experience providing administrative support, including managing schedules, coordinating communication, and assisting senior professionals.
