Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled 'Mechanical Technician' to support our production and research initiatives. This role involves setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting experimental equipment, alongside performing mechanical production, manufacturing, and prototyping tasks. The ideal candidate will possess experience in 2D and 3D design software, machining, welding, and prototyping, with a strong focus on precision and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Set up and maintain experimental equipment for research and development projects.
2. Perform mechanical production, assembly, and maintenance tasks to support manufacturing and prototyping.
3. Use 2D and 3D design software (AutoCAD, Solidworks, Onshape) to create and interpret technical drawings and models.
4. Operate and maintain machining equipment, including CNC machines, lathe machines, CO2 laser machines, and fiber laser machines.
5. Execute prototyping tasks using 3D printing technology to create accurate models and parts.
6. Conduct welding tasks (TIG, MIG, Arc) for assembly and repair, ensuring durability and quality.
7. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to complete projects efficiently and to quality standards.
8. Follow safety protocols and best practices in all equipment setup, manufacturing, and prototyping operations.
Qualifications:
1. Diploma in mechanical engineering or bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (B.Tech/B.E.).
2. Hands-on experience in mechanical production, equipment maintenance, machining, welding, and prototyping.
Required Skills:
1. Software Proficiency: Knowledge of 2D & 3D design software (AutoCAD, Solidworks, Onshape).
2. Machining Expertise: Experience with CNC machining, lathe operation, CO2 and fiber laser cutting.
3. Prototyping: Proficiency with 3D printing technology for model and part creation.
4. Welding Techniques: Knowledge of TIG, MIG, and Arc welding methods.
5. Equipment Maintenance: Skilled in setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting experimental equipment.
6. Manufacturing Knowledge: Strong understanding of mechanical production and manufacturing processes.
