Consultant - Financial Reporting Advisory Job

Key responsibilities:

1. Work on preparation and review of financial statements/regulatory reports like balance sheet, P&L, schedule of investment, cash flows, notes to the accounts as per applicable GAAP, etc.
2. Undertake process and controls advisory assignments, draft report for review and facilitate issue tracking and validate closure of issues
3. Execute IFC fieldwork in line with the agreed approach e.g. documenting activity flows, identification of key risks, testing key controls to determine whether they are properly designed and are operating effectively and documenting work in accordance with divisional standards
4. Work on financial reporting activity such as month-end closure procedures
5. Reconcile balance sheet control accounts, investigate issues and report/rectify the same
6. Work on variance analysis of P & L items and reporting on the same
7. Work on the preparation of management accounts packs in accordance with the requirements of the client
8. Work on preparation and finalization of tax returns for clients
9. Work on liaising with clients with regard to requests for information and query resolution
10. Complete all assigned work in line with agreed budgets
11. Manage and execute day-to-day responsibilities with day-to-day deliverables
12. Develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, the business and respective support areas
13. Take ownership for own career management, seeking opportunities for continuous development of personal capability and improved performance contribution- for example taking the lead on other financial reporting advisory projects

Required:

1. Knowledge of financial accounting and reporting function
2. Good knowledge of auditing standards and concepts related to internal financial controls
3. Solid relationship management, analytical, problem-solving, communication, influencing, planning and presentation skills
4. Bachelor degree (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university (or equivalent)
5. Those who have completed articleship training will have an added advantage (completion of the CA course is not mandatory)
