Accountant Job

Key responsibilities:

1. Account all fees and collections for school supplies, field trips, textbooks, notebooks, uniforms, damages, and other receipts in Tally
2. Process payments for school purchases, vendors, petty cash, suppliers, and vendors
3. Process and account for salaries and wages based on leave and permission calculation, ensuring all statutory deductions are reflected and issuing and recording salary slips
4. Comply with all statutory requirements and obligations governed by statutory bodies, including ESI, PF, and others directed by the Governing body. File and remit ESI & PF on time and account for them systematically
5. Authorize all payments before processing, maintain them in appropriate files, and stay aware of any revisions in fees and other school charges
6. Maintain monthly expenses and track them against budgets
7. Maintain all files with access limited to approved heads, ensuring files are not left in public view and keeping sensitive information secure
8. Enter all data in the accounting software (Tally) and reconcile periodically with the bank and head office. Raise any discrepancies immediately to the concerned heads
9. Liaise with the admin staff to implement all school policies, respond to letters from government authorities, and attend or represent the school in meetings when directed by the heads
