The ideal candidates will have experience in converting PDF documents into structured XML format accurately and efficiently. As a PDF to XML Conversion Specialist, you will play a crucial role in digitizing and organizing data for various projects, including document management, data analysis, and content integration.
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Convert PDF documents into XML format using specialized tools and software while ensuring accuracy and consistency
2. Analyze PDF files to identify and extract relevant data elements, including text, tables, images, and metadata
3. Clean and preprocess extracted data to ensure compatibility with XML schema and standards
4. Validate XML output against project requirements and quality standards to identify and rectify errors or inconsistencies
5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data analysts, developers, and project managers, to ensure smooth workflow and project delivery
6. Maintain documentation and records of conversion processes, including file naming conventions, version control, and data integrity checks
7. Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices related to PDF conversion and XML processing to enhance efficiency and productivity

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in computer science, information technology, data management, or a related field

Strong understanding of XML syntax, schema definition, and markup languages (e.g., XML, XSLT, XPath)
Experience with data cleaning and preprocessing techniques, including text extraction, table recognition, and image conversion
Attention to detail and ability to handle complex data structures and formats with precision and accuracy
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve conversion issues effectively
