About the internship
Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Assist the director and assistant director with research for various film and documentary topics, including subject matter, locations, historical references, and character backgrounds.
2. Help maintain a comprehensive documentation system, organizing research materials, references, and notes for the team.
3. Collaborate with the director to gather factual information and verify details to ensure accuracy in the script and during filming.
4. Assist with the preparation and creation of shooting schedules, call sheets, and other production paperwork.
5. Conduct location scouting research, providing background information on sites, availability, permits, and logistical needs.
6. Maintain an organized archive of documents, reference materials, and other critical resources related to the film or documentary project.
7. Support the team during pre-production and on set by providing research material, notes, and documentation as needed.
8. Assist in maintaining continuity throughout production by ensuring that the documentation reflects changes or updates in the script, scheduling, and production process.
9. Contribute to the development of the production's research database, helping track new information as the project evolves.
10. Organize and assist in the preparation of press kits, media content, and project materials when required.

Other requirements
1. Strong research skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
2. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage large amounts of information and maintain clear, accessible records.
3. An interest in film or documentary production, particularly in the role of an Assistant Director.
4. Familiarity with film and documentary production terminology and workflows is a plus.
5. Proficiency in digital research tools, databases, and software such as Google Docs, Microsoft Office, or other project management tools.
6. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills.
7. Strong writing and note-taking abilities for summarizing research and providing detailed reports.
8. Passion for storytelling and an interest in the research process that supports creating authentic, engaging films and documentaries.
