About the job

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue goals and expand market share.
2. Consistently meet and exceed sales targets and budget expectations.
3. Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities, maintain customer intelligence, and create a prioritized target list.
4. Focus sales efforts on penetrating and expanding relationships with high-priority customers.
5. Stay informed about industry trends through continuous market research.
6. Prepare and deliver accurate sales forecasts, budgets, and performance analyses.
7. Maintain a robust book of business in alignment with company goals.
8. Design and implement integrated solutions for customers to enhance service offerings.
9. Cultivate strong relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
10. Ensure full CRM adoption, maintaining a pipeline that aligns with budgetary targets.
11. Proactively add new customers, meeting agreed-upon goals.
12. Manage 'Days Sales Outstanding' (DSO) and drive effective collections.
13. Conduct monthly and quarterly business reviews (MBRs and QBRs) with critical clients to evaluate performance and explore new opportunities.
14. Develop an in-depth understanding of critical customers' businesses to aid retention efforts.
15. .Collaborate closely with pricing and operations teams to address opportunities, and challenges, and improve pricing strategies.
16. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Freight Forwarding services, including Air and Sea.
17. Work with internal teams (pricing, customer service, finance) to ensure seamless service delivery.
18. Lead regular client meetings to promote services, address concerns, and enhance customer satisfaction.
19. Network with internal business units to share information and identify new growth opportunities.
20. Prepare detailed reports on sales performance, market conditions, and customer feedback for management.
21. Ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.


Location: Chennai and Mumbai

Advanced Excel English Proficiency (Spoken)

Other requirements

Qualifications & competencies:

1. Demonstrated success in Freight Forwarding Sales with a strong track record.

2. Ability to analyze market conditions and develop effective sales strategies.

3. Minimum 4 years of relevant industry experience.

4. Bachelor’s degree or MBA preferred.

5. Strong sales skills, including prospecting, negotiation, and closing.

6. Excellent interpersonal, commercial, and communication skills for building and managing relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.

7. Self-motivated, target-oriented, and a team player.

8. Proficient in dynamic writing, presentation, relationship-building, negotiation, and problem-solving.

9. Excellent communication skills in English, Hindi, and relevant regional languages, both written and verbal.

10. Regular travel within the assigned region is required.

11. Proactive, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

MICE-Specific experience:

1. Experience in the MICE industry, with strong communication and computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

2. Solid understanding of the MICE industry or significant experience in the travel industry with client interaction and a willingness to learn.

3. Proven ability to meet targets and maximize profits.

4. Capable of handling client queries independently and managing client files from start to finish.

5. Ability to develop and execute a sales plan to achieve set goals.

6. Actively acquire sales through lead generation and follow-up.
