About the job

Key responsibilities:

1. Perform all assigned tasks for monthly, quarterly, and yearly accounts closing procedures
2. Manage day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance
3. Process complex or sensitive transactions
4. Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly to ensure the accuracy of financial records
5. Analyze, reconcile, and properly state assigned accounts per US generally accepted accounting principles
6. Assist with designing budgets for management review, prepare and maintain fixed assets register and schedules
7. Maintain accurate and complete sets of records supporting all transactions in an organized manner, as per company policies and procedures
8. Prepare all required schedules and manage all aspects of year-end audit/review by independent accountants, as well as any other compulsory or required audits
9. Assist the Controller with preparing tax returns and other governmental reports as required by law, submitting them to the appropriate agency on time

Requirements:

1. Possess a degree in accounting or finance; CPA, ACCA, or MBA preferred
2. Have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience as an accountant or in a relevant job role
3. Excel in using Excel, MS Office, and accounting software such as Quickbooks, Sage, Netsuite, Xero
4. Understand basic accounting principles and perform essential accounting functions
5. Understand US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and analyze and review financial data in detail and at high levels
6. Have knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements
7. Have experience with asset-based financing and preparation of weekly borrowing base certificates (a plus)
8. Be able to analyze and summarize large volumes of data and manage multiple projects simultaneously
9. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information
10. Continuously learn and stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations
11. Have strong communication skills in both written and verbal forms
