1. Provision, install, configure, operate, and maintain system hardware, software, and related infrastructure
2. Evaluate new products and technologies to enable continuous innovation within the infrastructure
3. Ensure system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational values
4. Take responsibility for the initiation, planning, and implementation phases of new and existing projects
5. Be accountable for all Windows-based systems
6. Engineer system-related solutions for various project and operational needs
7. Install new or rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc., in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
8. Create, update, and maintain documentation related to systems engineering
9. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes
10. Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
11. Perform regular security monitoring to identify possible intrusions
12. Perform daily backup operations, ensuring required file systems and system data are backed up, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off-site as necessary
13. Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary
14. Create, change, and delete user accounts as requested
15. Provide support per request from various constituencies and investigate and troubleshoot issues
16. Repair and recover from hardware or software failures and coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies
17. Apply OS patches and upgrades regularly and upgrade administrative tools and utilities
18. Configure and add new services as necessary
19. Upgrade and configure applications
20. Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures
21. Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning
22. Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required
23. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required
24. Maintain data center environment and monitoring equipment
