About the internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Write custom HTML, PHP, CSS and JavaScript for existing websites and applications.
2. Design, recommend and pitch improvements to new and existing features.
3. Assist in troubleshooting issues on web-based systems.
4. Update and edit website content, posts and pages.
5. Provide technical support related to web-based systems to internal teams.
6. Test and give feedback on new and existing technologies.
7. Create prototypes and experiment with new technologies and features as assigned.

Other requirements

1. Front-end development with HTML 5, CSS jQuery

2. WordPress template development

3. WordPress back-end customization and extension

4. Managing and Building WIX Sites

5. Expert knowledge of WordPress (Plugin / theme development / API), PHP, HTML, JavaScript and CSS

6. Strong experience building HTML/CSS across the major browsers and minimizing load times

7. Identifying areas that can be improved and turning that into functionality from start to finish

8. Experience building mobile-optimized / responsive sites with Touch screen optimization, Retina / High-DPI optimization and Small-screen optimized navigation

GOOD TO HAVE:

1. PHP, Ajax, and MySQL knowledge

2. Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

3. Integrating WordPress with other web-based applications

4. Documenting jobs from start to finish

5. Experience with XML and with modern source control (Git)

6. Knowledge of SEO and SEM

7. Experience working with tools libraries like JQuery, CSS grids, HTML5 Boilerplate, 8. WordPress starter themes such as Bones, Modernizer, and Third-party APIs

9. Experience designing user interfaces (UI) that feature Interactive elements, Animated elements, and Design principles such as white space, simplicity, chunking, proximity, weight, context, Visual cues, signposts, focus, and conventions
