About the internship

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain Reliability and Availability: Ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability of services through monitoring and proactive engineering.
2. Network Management: Oversee network performance, troubleshoot network issues, and implement strategies to improve network reliability and security.
3. Incident Response and Root Cause Analysis: Participate in on-call rotations, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues promptly to minimize downtime.
4. Automation: Develop and maintain automation tools for deployment, monitoring, and system management.
5. Performance Monitoring: Set up and optimize monitoring tools, create dashboards, and establish alerts to proactively detect and address issues.
6. Site Visits: Travel to physical locations for network and system troubleshooting, upgrades, and maintenance as required.
7. Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers and DevOps to optimize and troubleshoot system and network performance.
8. Documentation and Best Practices: Document processes, system configurations, and operational best practices to improve incident response times and knowledge sharing.

Other requirements

1. Networking: Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, VPNs, and network troubleshooting.

2. Programming: Proficiency in either Node.js or Python for scripting and automation.

3. Containerization: Experience with Docker for containerized environments.

4. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to root cause analysis and incident management.

5. Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and document processes.

6. Willingness to Travel: Ability to travel to sites as needed for network and system maintenance and troubleshooting.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud, Azure).

2. Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.

3. Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).

4. Experience in a high-traffic or high-growth startup environment.
