About the internship

Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Develop and execute comprehensive political strategies to support the organization's goals and objectives.
2. Conduct thorough research and analysis of political trends, public policies, and legislative issues relevant to the organization.
3. Monitor and evaluate the political landscape, identifying opportunities and threats that may impact the organization's interests.
4. Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including government officials, lobbyists, and advocacy groups, to build alliances and promote the organization's position.
5. Prepare policy briefs, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
6. Organize and participate in political events, meetings, and outreach initiatives to engage with key decision-makers and influencers.
7. Develop and maintain relationships with policymakers, political organizations, and community leaders to enhance the organization's visibility and influence.
8. Assist in the preparation of communication materials, including press releases, op-eds, and social media content, to advocate for the organization's positions.
9. Stay informed about changes in legislation and public policy, providing timely updates to internal teams and stakeholders.
10. Contribute to the development of training materials and sessions for staff on political advocacy and engagement strategies.

Other requirements

1. Master’s degree in political science, public policy, international relations, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.

2. Proven experience in political strategy, public policy, or advocacy, with a strong understanding of the political process.

3. Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop strategic recommendations.

4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex political information clearly to diverse audiences.

5. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders, including government officials and community leaders.

6. Proficiency in research methodologies and tools, with the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources.

7. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under tight deadlines.
