Since its declaration by the UN General Assembly in 1999, World Space Week (WSW) has grown to the largest annual public space event on Earth, with participation by over 80 nations. Our regional coordinators in India play a critical role in this important program.
The World Space Week Campus Ambassador s day-to-day responsibilities include:
1. Hosting WSW events in your campus or city
2. Inviting government and non-government institutions to collaborate or participate
3. Making students/colleagues aware of WSW events and participation (the aim is to inspire and stimulate interests in space, STEM sciences, and education)
4. Organize meet-ups and seminars tied up with us on your campus
The primary expectation is to be the point of contact between their respective institute and World Space Week India and the Space Foundation team in case of queries.
Learning opportunities
1. Become a part of the international community to collectively inspire and stimulate interests in space, STEM sciences, and education.
2. Get the opportunity to host the largest space event on the earth, under United Nations.
3. Get a chance to work with associated events with our collaborators like NASA, ISRO, Principal Scientific Advisor-Govt. of India, Department of Science and Technology.
