Selected intern's day-to-day responsibilities include:

1. Modifying the existing Android app according to the requirements provided by the team - this will include implementing new features, fixing bugs, and optimizing performance
2. Integrating Firebase into the app to add functionality such as user authentication, data storage, and analytics
3. Testing the app thoroughly to ensure that all changes are functioning correctly and that no new issues are introduced
4. Maintaining and updating the app to keep it running smoothly
